One last step before Timbre opens
Your download has started. Timbre isn't sold on the App Store, so macOS asks you to approve it by hand the first time you open it. It takes about a minute.

Open the downloaded file
Open Timbre.dmg from your Downloads folder and drag Timbre into Applications. Then open Timbre once from Launchpad or Spotlight.
A warning appears — click Done
macOS shows “Timbre” Not Opened because it isn't notarized. This is expected — Timbre is free, open-source, and runs entirely on your Mac. Click Done to dismiss it.
Allow Timbre in Settings
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll down to the Security section. You'll find “Timbre” was blocked to protect your Mac — click Open Anyway and authenticate with Touch ID or your password.
Confirm the final prompt
One last dialog asks if you're sure. Click Open. Timbre opens and won't ask again — from now on it launches like any other app.
